Favre and Chilly

Well, it had to happen. You knew that Favre could only take Chilly's system for so long ... I'm surprised he didn't snap a month ago. Football is a game of matchups ... find a weakness and exploit it ... when they adjust to the weakness, attack where they have to cheat to cover up the weakness ... this isn't difficult, but Chilly believes in systems not people ... obviously every team knows that the Vikings will run on first down, and so they prepare for it ... what does Chilly do? Keeps running on first down. Why don't the Vikings play-action pass on first down? Or throw a slant over the middle? or a screen? If they did, it would free up Peterson and he would run wild. The defense struggles when they're on the field all day. If Childress would let Favre call the plays, the Vikings would win the Super Bowl. The way it's going now ... the Vikings will be bounced in the first round of the playoffs.

sad but true! i'm hoping for one of those hollywood moments where the coach calls in the plays and the QB huddles everyone up and tells them we're running the favre special. -kack
